I'm Joshua Cottrell-Schloemer. I run Big Excel Energy, an Excel design studio and education brand. The work is Excel dashboard design, report design, spreadsheet interfaces, and templates that make Excel look less like a spreadsheet and more like a polished communication product. My background is data communications design. I write the free weekly Excel + Design newsletter, which basically just sends out a ready-to-use Excel template every issue. I'm a 3× Microsoft Excel MVP, and on TikTok I reach 485,000+ followers as @bigexcelenergy. 19,000+ newsletter subscribers get those templates in their inbox. My Excel templates have been downloaded nearly one million times as of August 2026. Before Big Excel Energy I cofounded Market.space, a competitive-intelligence platform I started in 2014 that was acquired in 2016. Today I design dashboards and reporting systems for brands and startups that need their numbers to actually get read, and I've done that work for brands like Microsoft, Kellogg's, Philips, and Novo Nordisk. I was one of the earliest creators to build a large audience specifically around Excel as a visual design medium, which is still a weird sentence to type.
